Founded in Spokane, Washington in 1992, Tate Technology Inc. continues to provide superior consignment and turnkey contract electronic manufacturing for a vast array of industries. We have had the opportunity to expand our capabilities to include ultra fine pitch BGA’s and leadless surface mount components making us a leading manufacturing source of complex circuit board assemblies.

Mark Helfenstein
Controller

Mark joined the team in early 2022 bringing with him extensive finance and planning experience. His attention to detail, transparency, and ethics make him a welcome addition to our team

Vickie Shaughnessy
Production Manager

Vickie gained extensive experience in manufacturing from working as a Senior Planner for Key Tronic for fifteen years. Joining Tate Technology in 2002 she is an integral part of the company; having in-depth knowledge in order entry, inventory management, production planning, and customer service. Recently Vickie has taken over all of our production scheduling. If you need anything, Vickie will do whatever it takes to get it done and her attention to detail is unrivaled.

Scott Tate

President

Scott joined Tate Technology in 2007 as a sales engineer. He spent his previous career as a mechanical engineer doing product design in various industries, both commercial and industrial. Some projects he worked on include Keurig coffee makers, Delta faucets, kitchen cabinets, diamond drill bit presses, just to name a few. He had a three year tenure selling industrial control products in Utah immediately before joining Tate Technology. His background in engineering and industrial sales allows him to understand the challenges that our customers face and more importantly to understand how Tate Technology can help solve those challenges. From sales to defining our processes and setting up manufacturing areas for efficiency to troubleshooting customer issues, Scott maintains an active role in every aspect of the company. Scott became President of the company in 2014.

Rick Sturm
Customer Solutions Supervisor

Rick joined Tate Technology in 2014 after graduating from Eastern Washington University with a BA in Business Administration, majoring in Management, with a focus in General Business. Rick enjoys problem solving and ensuring that our customers get the best service possible. Rick has learned how to program our new SMT equipment to help out when needed and has been promoted to head up our Customer Solutions department

Tim Sayer

National Sales Manager

Tim Sayer is Tate Technology’s National Sales Manager, joining the team back in 2013. He assists with sales development throughout the United States with a primary focus in the Seattle and Portland markets. Tim is a driven team player with over 20 years of progressive B2B technical sales experience with a focus on consultative sales strategy. With Tim’s help we have grown our customer base significantly in the Northwest’s technical market. Earlier in his career Tim worked in a Hewlett Packard warehouse selling computers and before long was doing project management/consulting for installation of complete networks into new buildings. After working for an Aerospace company he moved into electronic components distribution sales and finally joined Tate Technology.

Michelle Ortez Senior Buyer

Michelle started with Tate Technology in February 2016 with an extensive background in purchasing, logistics, and aviation. At her former job she was manager of logistics until they moved her over to the purchasing department where she found her true calling. It didn’t take her long to decide that she enjoyed purchasing so much she wanted to get a degree in it. In 2015 Michelle became a Certified Purchasing Professional. Her extensive knowledge is a great benefit to the company.

Michael Rogers

SMT Lead & Equipment Engineering

With over 25 years experience in defense and aerospace and a background in quality and technical support, Michael seemed like a great fit for our company. Michael has lived and worked all over the world, including Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. Most recently Michael worked as a quality engineer for United Launch Alliance in Albuquerque, NM supporting avionics for America’s space program. We hired Michael in March 2016 as our Process Engineer to troubleshoot any issues our production line encounters but his current focus has been overseeing the operation of the new SMT equipment that was recently acquired.

Sungwon Park Quality Manager

Joining Tate Technology in early 2015 as Quality Manager, Sungwon comes to us from Samsung Electronics’ Visual Display Division. He has a Masters in Business Administration and BS in Communications Engineering with over 17 years experience in Quality Management. Sungwon’s main role at our company is to manage the audit and test departments, derive and implement solutions to lower board defect rates and to maintain our ISO/ FDA certifications.

Sue Mitchell

Stores & Shipping Manager

A long time team member, Sue has been with Tate Technology since 1993. Sue serves so many roles at Tate Technology that there isn’t enough room to list them all. Her active duties include shipping, receiving, consumables, stores, and human resources, as well as managing some of our higher volume consignment accounts.

Zach Packham
Customer Solutions Specialist

Zach, a process improvement engineer, joined us in 2021 to help bolster our Customer Solutions department to ensure fast responses to RFQ's and other customer requests. having an engineering degree with a manufacturing background helps make Zach a valuable member of our Customer Solutions team

Jeff Hooley
Process Engineer

Jeff joined our team in 2021 with many years of manufacturing and documentation control experience. Jeff was a flight engineer in the Air Force providing him with excellent attention to detail and accountability. Jeff is in charge of our selective and wave soldering machines, cabling machines, wash equipment, and various other processes.

Emily Hetnar
Administrative Assistant

Joining Tate Technology in 2021 Emily brings with her a diverse background in various front-office roles such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, purchasing, payroll, HR, etc. We are fortunate to have her experience and enthusiasm.
